About Dr. Moricca
After growing up on Long Island and living in the Netherlands for two years, Dr. Moricca studied at Purdue University in Indiana. He was a member of the prestigious Sigma Pi Sigma, the Physics Honor Society, at Purdue. Holding the coveted Regents Scholarship, Alpha Omega Alpha, he received his Medical Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1981.
Completing his Internship, Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Torrance, in 1985, Dr. Moricca continued specialized training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He completed his Pulmonary Fellowship there in 1987. Dr. Moricca received Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 1984, in Pulmonary Medicine in 1988, and in Critical Care Medicine in 1989.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Moricca holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to medical school, he worked at Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles for six years.
Apart from his publications and presentations, Dr. Moricca is a Member of the American Thoracic Society, and he is a Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Moricca has been a licensed Ham Radio Operator since age thirteen and enjoys spending time with his son and daughter.
