Sabah Ahmed, MD

From a young age, Dr. Ahmed was driven to make a difference in individuals’ lives in any way possible. From taking on leadership positions, organizing humanitarian events, volunteering at local hospitals to attending medical school. Her compassion and patience, coupled with a social nature guided her path towards medicine. Dr. Ahmed was inspired to pursue a career as a physician after witnessing a close family member navigate through their chronic illness and observing the compassionate care they received from their doctor.

Dr. Ahmed’s passion is fueled by knowing that each time she leaves a patient’s room, she is making a difference. Her dedication to her work is driven by the importance of teaching others to live a healthy and active lifestyle. She chose family medicine because it extends far beyond providing primary care to individuals. It involves building relationships and caring for whole families across generations. It encompasses more than medical science. There is a true art to a good bedside manner, fostering hope, building confidence, providing comfort, counseling and inspiring change, all while creating personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient.

As a resilient physician, Dr. Ahmed’s approach to patient care is centered on the patient, encouraging them to actively participate in their own health. Through shared decision-making, patients can enhance their overall well-being. She emphasizes building strong relationships with her patients to deliver the best possible care. Dr. Ahmed values open communication and collaboration in her practice.

Fluent in Urdu/Hindi, Farsi and Punjabi, Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from Medical University of the Americas in Charlestown, Nevis, West Indies and completed her family medicine residency at Louisiana State University Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Outside of work, Dr. Ahmed enjoys exercising, exploring the outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family.
